Based in our recording studio in the midlands, UK, we help to create music and other audio productions by providing advice, skills and facilities to turn ideas into sounds. Our services include music production, recording, mixing and all sorts of noise-related activity.

We believe that music provides a way for people of all backgrounds to develop their creative skills, discover new ways to communicate with each other and build wide-reaching networks of collaborators and fans. It’s such a fulfilling life, but it’s hard to make great records alone. We push things along creatively and technically using decades of experience, so you don’t have to worry about all that stuff. Think of us as collaborative partners, committed to a joint success story.

How we work

Great audio comes from careful planning, listening to what you want and working out the best way to get there.

We don't believe that there is a right or wrong way of doing things and each session has a unique process. Your recording should be every bit as individual as you and your music.

We think that to help people develop as artists, we have to work with them to experiment and find out how to communicate their ideas in new ways.

Who we are

Snug are native Midlands Music stalwarts Robin Newman and Richard Collins.

We have decades of experience of playing/touring in bands, working in recording studios and have picked up various sound & production qualifications on the way.

We know committing to a big studio recording can be daunting, but we're also friendly people and we love the creative recording process. We work with you to find your own personal process that gets the best performance from you.

Gear

What we use

Our studio is full of great microphones, pre-amps, instruments, amps, synthesizers and all sorts of audio processors and software. We have high-quality monitor speakers and a great sounding control room. Perhaps above all else, we have decent coffee. We firmly believe that you shouldn’t choose to work with someone by looking at a gear list - so we've not included one here. However, if you think you need a specific piece of equipment, just ask.
